THE GOLDSMITH FOR UNIQUE JEWELRY AND UPCYCLING

ART should be an essential expression of deep feeling that move people. Art is where the artist has given a piece of himself. And if it is art, than it transcends language, space and time. DESIGN should follow this principle: “form follows function”. And making jewelry is a balancing act between art and design.

Mixed media, objects, illustrations, accessoires

Every work of art made by Eva Lippert tells a story to the beholders – sometimes they’ll find their own story in there. Inspired by dreams, travels to foreign cultures, nature, and increasingly current world affairs, ideas, feelings and experiences are made visible through various techniques as weaving, embroidery, knitting, collage, printing and painting. It is an exciting challenge, to find the appropriate medium for every theme, and to use the strength of the actual technique for narration. The thus resulting transformation of findings and waste, that form an alliance with e.g. vintage brooches and embroidered ribbons to become a treasure, arouse a perennial immense fascination. Every piece of work is individual. It’s handmade, or, as the scarf- and skirts-collections, based on painted, drawn or handcrafted designs, that are printed in very small quantities digitally in Como and Berlin, and processed further in Germany and Switzerland while using different lining and waistband fabrics for each piece.

All the Way to the Stars and Back

All jewelry pieces by Ulrike Hofmann-Schüll are unique made in silver, gold, brass, copper or iron often combined with precious stones. Trained in metalworking and forming craft techniques, she has many wonderful skills to carry out her manifold ideas. A few years ago, she began to create an entirely new, exciting different style of jewelry: large, lightweight, asymmetrical structures in which luminous faceted stones are integrated. Ulrike Hofmann-Schüll’s creative process became even more intuitive, dynamic and far-reaching. She has written a book about these creative heights: All the Way to the Stars and Back: About the Creative Process.”

Fine design, exquisite materials

The work of jewellery artist Friederike Rohse daringly breathes new life into old techniques as she creates natural forms in precious metals and glass. She is one of the few jewellery designers to use an enamelling process that brings out the glowing colours and emphasises the many and varied forms of her designs.

JEWELLERY AND GENDER IDENTITY

A key distinguishing feature of a person is their gender. Stereotypes have an influence on gender identity. Franziska Höhnes work sharpens the senses to become more sensitive when dealing with people’s identities. Pigeonholing of gender should be relaxed, so that everyone can become aware of their identity and develop it freely, without constant imprinting from the outside. In Höhne’s collection, there are no stereotypical gender markers that point to a particular way of identifying, so everyone can determine their own identity. The person can determine how the jewellery is worn, and can either give hints about the wearer’s identity or blind it. Franziska Höhne has playfully utilised stereotyped gender-role-specific ideas in her choices of material. The wood stands for the stereotypical male image, the hunting man, who is looking for food in the forest and takes the wild boar with his bare hands. The silver is symbolic of the neutral, and the pottery symbolizes the stereotypical female image of the housekeeper.
