Angelo Verga
Fascinated by the materials Angelo’s first approach was with clay. He started to produce works on the theme of light that materialized into a synergy between ground and agglomerated luminescent breaks. This was an experience that soon will bring him to expand his know how in the vast panorama of the sculptures thus landing in the field of contemporary jewellery. His grandfather being a watchmaker and his father being an engraver, they both laid unknowingly the foundations that helped to raise an interest in the artist’s creative work. Thanks to a particularly expressive sensitivity, he performs a search for contemporary expressions applied to jewel, letting itself be seduced by the endless stimuli that this fascinating world offers.
My Jeans” Poetics
With the collection “My Jeans” Angelo Verga introduces in his works the act of undressing. It is an action that touches the sphere of sensuality through poetry of matter. The artist slips out of his blue jeans in order to bring them back to life in jewellery. Verga breaks his denim by bringing it messed, he shelves ductility and roughness of the own jeans and inserts feelings that amaze the viewer. In this series of works the eye is captured by silver details and the freshness of the fabric while the touch is stimulated by the finely polished surfaces. In summary Verga hides passion and poetry beneath frozen resin fibers.
