a.ACHAT

a.ACHAT is a fresh Berlin-based label which we think of more as a platform than a pure clothing brand. On the edge of contemporary and avantgarde, our clothing is based around simplistic shapes, playful patterns and clashing textures for all sexes. a.ACHAT creates handmade products in small quantities and small irregularities are part of their character. We work with high quality fabrics and materials to complement our designs while keeping an eye on sustainability as much as possible. This creates an individual style that fits perfectly in anyone’s wardrobe. a.ACHAT’s projects are often based on collaborations with different international artists, illustrators and graphic designers. This allows us to create unique pieces with striking aesthetic expressions and urban attitude. We use techniques like screen printing, hand painting the fabrics or designing our own patterns for digital print.

lace accessories

kex are textile-jewels. The designer Anita Keckeis puts a great emphasis on their independence and autonomy from fashion trends while attracting self-confident and modern women. Every single scarf, collier and belt is produced in a limited edition of no more than 98 items. No mass product, no clearance sales – kex will keep its exclusiveness and timeless value. The stitched lace is manufactured after my hand-crafted designs in Vorarlberg, Austria. All kex accessories receive their finish in Berlin. Non-clichéd beauty, independence, intellectual flexibility and experimental creativity are main tenets of Anita Keckeis. Her goal beyond designing embroidery-lace and creating exclusive textile-jewels, is to cooperate with creative people across genres and borders, bringing together fashion, painting, music, modern dance, theater, film and literature.

Princesses and Saints

Justyna Koeke is internationally renowned for her bold performances, in which she examines critically topics such as gentrification, church and age. In „Princesses and Saints“ she transforms childhood fantasies into wearable sculptures, as well as fashion shows in performances. As a child, the artist painted her heroines, princesses and saints, together with her sisters. She created a real collection of brightly colored outfits full of bizarre details. On the bodies of aged women the tailor-made fantasies awake to life. The collection „Princesses and Saints“ includes childish, frank drawings to photographs with the costumed models in front of their seniors residence to ebullient fashion shows. A humorous and at the same time critical approach to the context of childisch dreams and seniors reality. In our more and more aging society these questions always resonate. Justyna Koeke’s art exists at the interface between sculpture, performance and allusions to the fashion world. The artistic project was shown at the alternative Berlin Fashion Week Berlin.

A Project from Photgrapher Wolfgang Brückner

The starting point for the STRUKTURFORSCHER (Structure Research) project was the observation that the identity and special features of the location of buildings and residential buildings are largely lost within the interior spaces. Even large, grand buildings often lose their charisma once you enter them. Even when art is part of the interior design, it seldom has a logical connection to the building and its surroundings. Wolfgang Brückner’s images, on the other hand, create an identification and “fraternization” with the respective building; for example, his “dream-windows” which actually show what is behind the walls, as if the architect had built a window into an extended perception. We are continually flooded by stimuli, pushing information into the background which was previously vital: for instance, information about our position and size in relation to the environment. The nervous system still generates this information, but it is only briefly checked in the subconscious and then deleted. This sense-impression makes the Structural Research Project visible, by, for instance, overlaying the same photo in different perspectives and colors. People do not play a big role in the pictures, it is always about the position of the perception relative to the environment. The large-format (up to 4 × 4 meters) colorful images are more reminiscent of paintings than of photos, they evoke feelings, stimulate dreaming, and unlike most architectural photographs, create a new relationship between the viewer and the object.
